September 16, 2008-Southfield, MI: LaKritz-Weber & Company, the retail real estate experts, announced multiple leases in Big Rapids Marketplace at 15190 Isabella Drive in Big Rapids, Michigan. Gabe Schuchman and Rob Krochmal of LaKritz-Weber & Company represented the landlord, DAP Big Rapids, LLC in the following transactions; a 1,200 square foot lease with Sally Beauty Supply, a 2,000 square foot lease with Manpower, and a 3,200 square foot lease with El Burrito Loco.

September 2, 2008-Southfield, MI: LaKritz-Weber & Company, the retail real estate experts, announced a 3,695 square foot lease in Northwestern Plaza at Northwestern Highway and Twelve Mile Road in Southfield, Michigan. Tony Schmitt and Brooke Wolf of LaKritz-Weber & Company represented the landlord Ari-El Development with Elia Development and the tenant, Leo’s Coney Island in this transaction.

August 11, 2008-Southfield, MI: LaKritz-Weber & Company, the retail real estate experts, announced a 1,554 square foot lease at 23195 Greenfield Road in Southfield, Michigan. Tony Schmitt of LaKritz-Weber & Company represented the tenant, Jimmy John's in this transaction. Chris Jonna of CMP Real Estate Group represented the landlord, Cornerstone Park LLC.

August 7, 2008-Southfield, MI: LaKritz-Weber & Company, the retail real estate experts, announced a 8,550 square foot lease in the outparcel of the National City Bank building on Big Beaver Road at I-75 in Troy, Michigan. Tony Schmitt and Brooke Wolf of LaKritz-Weber & Company represented a developer on behalf of the Granite City Food & Brewery in this transaction. This will be Granite City Food & Brewery's first location in the State of Michigan.

Bob Lutz, a boisterous 76 years old and the glibbest of Detroit's corporate high priests, was extemporizing recently on 100 years of General Motors Corp. history and, in his blunt-spoken way, hit the nail smack on the head.

GM was cocky during its days of dominance, he recalled, and then oblivious to the rise of its rivals. "There was this general lack of awareness of what was going on," Lutz said of GM in the 1960s and '70s, "and a general lack of respect towards competition.

"The attitude at General Motors was, if you will, simply a reflection of the attitude of the whole United States, and you could argue that the whole country has since sort of gone into relative decline and we're forced to rethink our place in the world," declared Lutz, GM's vice chairman of global product development.
